Ingredients:

  • 2 cups glutinous rice, soaked for two hours
  • 1 cup KARTA coconut water
  • 500g sea prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, julienned
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

1. Drain the soaked glutinous rice and place it in a steamer lined with cheesecloth. Evenly pour KARTA coconut water over the rice.

2. Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, and sesame oil in a bowl.

3. Marinate sea prawns in the mixture for 15-20 minutes.

4. Arrange marinated sea prawns on top of the glutinous rice in the steamer.

5. Steam over medium heat for 30-40 minutes or until the rice is tender and prawns are cooked.

6. In a pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic and julienned ginger until fragrant.

7. Pour the aromatic ginger sauce over the steamed rice and prawns.

8. Garnish with chopped spring onions, fresh coriander, and sesame seeds.
